BACK UP THE REGISTRY
The windows registry is a sensitive area of the windows
operating system. any small error can de - stabilize your system
but at times it is necessary that we do some changes there.
In such cases, we need to back up the registry. This is make a copy of
it's current state, so that in the eventuality of
causing some havoc due to the change we made, we can
restore the saved version.
Backing up the registry is not difficult. Follow these steps:
1. open the registry editor (start > run > regedit.exe)
You should see the window below
In the file menu, Click on export. This opens a dialog box
in which you enter the place you want to save
the back up registry file.
Select a safe location. and click OK.
You're done. You can now edit the registry.
Should you realize that the editing has caused a problem,
You can restore the back up to stabilize things.
